Our Journey So Far

2017

Foundation

In 2017, HTX’s co-founders envisioned using immersive technologies to transform critical skills training, grounded in the belief that learning by doing is essential to developing true readiness. While at Station Houston, this vision became the EMPACT Immersive Training Platform, purpose-built for Department of Defense and enterprise-scale XR adoption.

2018

US Air Force / Pilot Training Next

HTX joined the US Air Force Pilot Training Next (PTN) initiative in 2018 to introduce immersive training for Airmen, establishing the need for and foundation of the EMPACT platform. This effort demonstrated the operational value of XR technology for pilot training and readiness.

Meet the Leadership Team

Scott brings more then 40 years of leadership experience in commercial software development and enterprise technology to HTX Labs. Scott is focused on ensuring that the entire HTX Labs team is fully aligned and rowing in the same direction to achieve our overall company objectives. Scott has a 25 year history as a founder in technology startups and is directly responsible for setting the corporate strategy and direction to position HTX best to deliver comprehensive value to our customers.

CJ leads our Growth activities as Senior VP of Growth and brings a wealth of experience to HTX Labs having served our country for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as an Acquisition Officer, Flight Test Engineer and Strategic Planner. CJ's leadership is focused on the customer, the team, and sharing the enthusiasm she has for EMPACT with the rest of the world. CJ is widely acknowledged as our #1 EMPACT Evangelist.

Greg Shaw is our Vice President of Product at HTX Labs, spearheading initiatives focused on advancing EMPACT to meet the needs of our target markets. Greg's experience has ranged from corporate ventures, like Starbucks, as well as numerous video game companies, so he came to us with a healthy tolerance for caffeine and an incredible vision for innovation.

Chris brings more than 25 years experience in enterprise software design, development, and delivery to HTX Labs. Chris has been on the front line of technical teams for multiple software startup companies and doesn't flinch at anything that comes his way. Chris is a conduit for the voice of the customer and oversees Product Development and Innovation, ensuring that we're successfully delivering capabilities that address our true customer needs.

Javier is VP of Innovation at HTX Labs, where he helps revolutionize training through immersive technologies including VR, MR, and AR. With over 15 years of experience as a creative technologist, and a background in cognitive behavioral science and philosophy, he focuses on the human impact of experiential technology. Javier also leads the AI-enablement initiatives for the EMPACT platform.

Darcie brings over 20 years of Aerospace and Defense experience to Team HTX. An engineer by training but operations and numbers person by heart, Darcie brings her diverse background and experience to bear at HTX every day ensuring that our team has the appropriate resources to deliver continuous value to our customers.

Megan is a nontraditional marketing leader who jumped from healthcare admin into tech and never looked back. As VP of Marketing at HTX Labs, she guides brand, strategy, PR, and events with a blend of creativity, hustle, and heart. Equal parts planner and storyteller, she's all about showcasing the innovations at HTX Labs to #MakeAnEMPACT for our customers.

Meet the Board of Directors

Steve is a retired Partner and Managing Director of TPG Capital where he led the firm’s efforts in company turnarounds and transformations in the Asian region. Prior to TPG, Steve worked for General Electric in various operational and leadership roles in the US and Asia as a Corporate Officer, Member of the Corporate Executive Committee, and as President and CEO of GE Asia and Chairman of GE China.
