HTX Labs announces new SBIR Phase II contract with the US Air Force in collaboration with Air Education and Training Command and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center

September 29, 2021

As the United States Air Force accelerates their training transformation journey in the immersive learning space, the organization of digital assets, multimedia, and virtual environments is becoming difficult and complex to manage.

The intricacies of immersive and interactive content formats can complicate storage, tracking, organization, distribution, and repurposing of assets, necessitating a smart digital asset repository.

To address dynamic content needs and persistent challenges that accompany diverse immersive content types, HTX Labs is excited to announce our new USAF SBIR/STTR Phase II contract with the USAF, in collaboration with Air Education and Training Command (AETC) A9/Det 23 Tech Training Transformation (T3) and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).

With this SBIR Phase II contract, Team HTX aims to consolidate and streamline processes to upload, store, classify and manage rich digital assets (e.g., airframes, vehicles, equipment, and tools), immersive environments (e.g., Aircraft Maintenance Units (AMU), runways, and flight lines), and multimedia files in a secure, centralized repository within EMPACT.

This evolution of the EMPACT Immersive Learning Platform helps maximize reuse of immersive training content and reduce duplication of efforts associated with delivering virtualized training across the Air Force.
