Public Safety

The primary goal of a public safety department is the prevention and protection of the public from dangers affecting safety such as crimes or disasters. Public safety organizations include police, fire and emergency medical services, as well as others. These are some of the most critical and dangerous jobs that exist, and their training must reflect that severity. Offering a high-quality level of training to public safety personnel is critical to providing for the welfare and safety of the public.

In collaboration with first responders in police and fire services departments, HTX has created highly-realistic and engaging training scenarios related to active shooter / workplace violence incidents and structure fires. Our active shooter training course was developed in conjunction with the Houston Police Department and the curriculum is based on the Department of Homeland Security’s Run-Hide-Fight methodology.

Our fire safety training was developed under the guidance of the Houston Fire Department and instructs on the need to stay low, isolate the fire and alert others of the situation.  Optimally, these tailored training experiences are applied in your workplace for maximum benefit.

As immersive technologies, such as virtual reality, continue to become more prevalent within today’s public safety environment, HTX looks to partner with organizations that want to lead the way in this movement. Please contact us at collaborate@htxlabs.com if you would like to collaborate on how best to integrate immersive technologies into how your employees learn, train, and work together.
